ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Whitney Stewart will travel far for a story. She’s trekked in the Himalaya with Sir Edmund Hillary and visited remote Buddhist monasteries in Nepal, Tibet, Myanmar, and Japan. She’s interviewed Nobel laureates in their homes, sat in meditation retreats, and even been a puppeteer and salad chef in France. She is the author of both fiction and nonfiction books for children, including her bestselling, Mindful Kids: 50 Mindfulness Activities for Kindness, Focus, and Calm (Barefoot Books, 2017), and her newest young adult book, Genomics: A Revolution in Health and Disease Discovery (Lerner Publications, 2020), co-authored by her geneticist husband, Hans C. Andersson MD. When not writing or traveling, Whitney often teaches mindfulness and meditation to children and young adults.
Whitney also collaborated with the late historian Denis Havel on FELDPOST: The War Letters of Friedrich Reiner Niemann, A German Soldier on the Eastern Front and wrote an award-winning travel series on her search to find her husband’s uncle who went missing in World War Two.
